The bodies of the executed martyrs were not to be touched. Yet five of them were bought from the executioner by their relatives. Damjanich and Láhner were buried in Mácha, Leininger in Monyoro, Dessewffy in Margonya, Vécsey in Arad. Ernő Kiss was hanged by his hussar and his valet and stolen home to Eleméri.
